Frequently Asked Questions

  • Your best move is to get all these firms lined up at the same time or close to it. We work with architects to make sure window placements, etc will work with the end desired result. It's incredible how tiny changes in architecture make a huge difference with the overall layout and enjoyment of a home. And, contractors/builders can help you work with the architect to make sure you stay on budget while designing your dream home. We also work with the contractors while designing to make sure what we have in mind will work in the space and on budget.

  • EdenLA was incorporated in 2009 and we've enjoyed helping clients all over the U.S. (and the world) since then.

  • As long as it’s reasonable, generally yes. Of course!

  • Yes! We are based in Los Angeles, but have clients all over California, in Florida, Colorado, New York, and Texas. We're open to international projects too on a case by case basis. You'd be surprised how effective we are and it is NOT necessary to be on site daily to ensure a stunning, efficient, on budget, and successful outcome.

  • Totally! You'd be surprised how much we do virtually even with a project across the street. Many times we only need to access the house 2 times: upon initial visit to take photos and videos and measurements, and then we need to be there to oversee installation of all the furnishings. We're very accessible to Facetime calls from contractors and tradesmen throughout the process. And our elaborate set of construction documents helps alleviate the need for our constant presence, still ensuring a smooth and efficient construction process.

  • I often say, “That is completely irrelevant”. How I decorate my home has nothing to do with you and your home. We take an inordinate amount of time at the beginning of a project to understand a client’s ideal of beauty before beginning. We can make a home or business stunning in infinite ways. Our goal is always to bring the client to their most stunning interiors. And that might or might not have anything to do with their neighbors or what the design magazines is saying is “hot” at the period.

  • We charge one of 3 ways depending on the scope. New Construction or Full House Remodel: $15 per square foot. Single room remodels are a flat rate based on the room (ie: kitchens are $5,000, primary bathrooms are $2500, secondary baths are $2000, fireplaces are $1000, etc.) For refurnishing or decorating, we charge an hourly rate of $250/hour for designer time and $100/hour for admin time. It's worth noting that for these services, we estimate the number of hours we will need to complete the project, and then we charge a flat rate broken into payment tranches for that amount. This means no surprise weekly bills for answering emails or phone calls!

  • Sometimes...If it's creative enough to be a good fit, we'll take a look. We've designed the lobbies and offices of entertainment agencies, lawyers, film production, music production, and even elegant medical waiting areas. However if you're looking for a cubicle design, we are probably not the best fit for you. We would be happy to refer you to some companies that specialize more in that arena.

  • Many. We can make recommendations for all trades you would need from a GC down to a shower door installer (ours is great!) and everything in between. However, our insurance doesn’t cover these trades. You will be contracting directly with any GC or trade we suggest directly. We are not a contracting firm. We just work hand in hand with these trades to ensure quality installation of stunning interiors.

  • We are extremely accessible by text or Facetime during the entire process. Though our very detailed construction documents make it so we do not need to drop in every day, we are generally available at a moment’s notice so that your project is never delayed.

  • Copious amounts. Just ask! We have clients from all over Los Angeles, including Manhattan Beach, Hermosa Beach, Newport Beach, Redondo Beach, Palos Verdes, Brentwood, and Beverly Hills, and have traveled for projects in Tahoe, Denver, Vero Beach, and future projects in Miami. Check out our Testimonials page to see posted reviews.

  • Great design is practical. Great design is functional. Neither need be negotiable to achieve visually stunning results.

  • Absolutely! We will be honest if particular pieces aren't really worth keeping, but we always strive to be economical and ecologically sound in our designs. And, using existing furnishings is a great way to do that.

  • The number one feedback we get from our clients and the contractors is "Your team is so easy to work with. You're so responsive. I wish everyone worked like that". We have a rule to respond to client inquiries by end of day, even if it's just to say we don't yet have an answer but we're working on it. We are very accessible and responsive.
